Offline Mode

The application's files are cached for offline usage together with the content. Categories, posts and pages are saved in the browser's local storage, offering a full app-like experience and allowing your users to continue using the app even when they don't have a network connection.

Add to Homescreen

Your progressive web application will be instantly loaded when readers are accessing your own URL from a mobile device. Users can add your progressive web application to their homescreens making it just a tap away.

Web Push Notifications

You can integrate with the free OneSignal service or other push notifications providers, allowing you to engage users through push notifications. This is one of the most requested PWA features, proven to increase user engagement by up to 4x.

Custom Appearance with SCSS

Customize the colors & fonts, add your logo, app icon and personalize your app to craft a brand identity. All app colors are centralized into a single SCSS file, allowing you to quickly create new color schemes.

Based on Semantic UI React

All UI components are based on Semantic UI React. This allows you to quickly extend the functionality of the app and use additional elements from Semantic UI, such as grids, forms, tabs, menus and so on.

Redux Integration

The data layer of the app is implemented using Redux. Redux is a predictable state container for JavaScript apps that helps you write applications that behave consistently, run in different environments (client, server, and native) and are easy to test.

Unit Tests

We have a 70-80% code coverage rate with Jest unit tests and we're working on improving this rate. The app includes configuration files for Eslint and follows the popular Airbnb coding standard.

CLI Tools

This application has been bootstrapped with Create React App. It already includes a service worker and tasks for running the code in development mode and build the app for production.

Get to know your mobile users and analyze your impact with our powerful yet simple reader-centric analytics. Integration with Google Analytics supported.

All the app's texts are centralized in a single JSON file and can be easily replaced. Supported languages for all app themes: Chinese (zh_CN), Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Spanish or Swedish.

Since progressive web apps don't have any shared revenue constraints, you can take full control of your income. Integration with Google DoubleClick for Publishers supported.

Homescreen & Menu

Folio's homescreen is composed of a cover, a welcoming message and a vertical navigational menu. This allows mobile users to access different pages of the application directly from the home-screen. The categories & articles are also available by swiping the cover to the left.

Categories Menu

The categories section consists of a vertical list of items that's composed of a featured image and a category title. There can be as many categories as needed.

Comments and Social Media Sharing Layer

Commenting and sharing is directly embedded within each article's detail page. The panels are opened by pressing the corresponding buttons from the post's footer bar. When commenting, mobile users don't have to be authenticated. Sharing across Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus is as seamless as it should be on any mobile device.
